The Paris Opera presents the ballet Cinderella (or Cendrillon) at the Palais Garnier in Paris.
The updated ballet is set in 1930's Hollywood, where a stage mother is determined to get her foolish and unworthy daughters into the movies. Cinderella, the stepdaughter relegated to a life of servitude, has only one dream – to become a star. When a producer stumbles into her life like a fairy godmother and whisks her away, her dream comes closer to reality.
Prokofiev's 1945 score is brought to life through the magic of Nureyev's choreography, set design by Petrika Ionesco and costumes by Hanae Mori. The three-act ballet is performed by les Étoiles, les Premiers Danseurs, Le Corps de Ballet, and l'Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Paris.
