In September, the opera house in Rome, Italy, Teatro dell'Opera, will present the popular ballet based on the fairytale of the same name, Cenerentola (Cinderella) as part of its regular season of opera and ballet season of opera and ballet.
With music composed by Sergei Prokofiev, Cenerentola is the story of a beautiful girl living in the home of her stepmother and stepsisters. A fairy god mother arrives on the scene to help her and opens up her world to a life of love and fortune.
Guest artist Maria Kochetkova, a principal dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, is scheduled to guest star in the production.
The Cenerentola, ballet Cenerentola featuring choreography by Derek Deane, opens in Rome on September 25.
Also throughout the month of September, opera lovers can catch a performance of La traviata and Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Salone Margherita.
