August 18, 2014

Have you ever seen a movie and dreamed of traveling to that place? Perhaps the place seemed beautiful or the story inspired you. For anyone who feels inspired to travel from movies, we've highlighted a few that were filmed in or depict beautiful destinations in Europe that you can visit.

In the movie Midnight in Paris, this romantic city is as much a character in the film as the people themselves. The film gives the locales, many of which are tourist sites, a mystical air of an idealized past.

Though Vikings (Ireland) is not a movie, we thought it would make a great addition to this list of places to visit. The TV show follows the life of Ragnar Lothbrok, the Norse ruler and conquerer. It's filmed in Ireland in a natural setting among mountains and lakes.

Children and adults have been transfixed by the visuals and songs of Frozen (Norway), the wildly popular animated movie. Real places in Norway served as the muse for the creators of the movie.

The Hundred-Foot Journey (France) opened recently and has made audiences fall in love with the hills, sunsets and natural beauty of southern France. Read about the locations where the movie was filmed.
