Opera House Reopens at Chateau de Versailles

Banquet offered by Napoleon III to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, 1855Last year, the Chateau de Versailles in France reopened its?18th century royal opera house after a two-year upgrade.?

The 652-seat opera house first opened in 1770 to celebrate the wedding of the future king, Louis XVI, to Marie Antoinette.

Upcoming programs for the 2010 season at the newly reopened opera house will feature performances of l'Opera de Dijon, Orchestre Les Paladins, Orchestre Les Arts Florissants, Natalie Dessay, Ballet de l'Op?ra National de Lyon and much more.
